The Holterberg

Discover the Holterberg nature reserve. Just 20 minutes away from our park lies the beautiful scenery of Holterberg. This beautiful nature reserve is surrounded by heath and trees. Ideal for a nice walk or bike ride. The Holterberg is part of the Sallandse Heuvelrug National Park.
Would you like to enjoy a snack or drink after your hike at Holterberg? On top of the Holterberg you will find the cozy Holterberg square with several restaurants, miniature golf courses, playgrounds and the surprising Holterberg Nature Museum. The museum uses life-size dioramas to give you the experience of being in the middle of nature. Together with Daantje Das, children can go on an exciting treasure hunt through the museum.

Are you a little less agile for wear but would still like to explore the Sallandse Heuvelrug? Then book a ride in the Heideslak. This special means of transportation is an electric cart that drives step by step and silently through the Salland Ridge. By one of the many volunteers you will be taken on this special excursion, along the way the guide tells stories about the Salland Ridge and fun facts about nature, culture and history. There are two different routes of the Heath Snail.
Are you a little less agile but would still like to explore the Sallandse Heuvelrug? Then book a ride in the Heideslak. This special means of transportation is an electric cart that drives step by step and silently through the Salland Ridge. By one of the many volunteers you will be taken on this special excursion, along the way the guide tells stories about the Sallandse Heuvelrug and fun facts about nature, culture and history. There are two different routes of the Heath Snail.
The long tour takes you through the woods to Schaapskooi Twilhaar. From there you drive towards the heath and viewpoint Noetselerberg, from where you have a panoramic view of the vast hilly heath landscape. Along the way the guide will tell you about the history, nature and cultural history of the Sallandse Heuvelrug. You end up back at the outdoor center.
The short tour route goes through the forest and across the heathland to the viewpoint Noetselerberg, passing beautiful vistas. Along the way the guide will tell you stories about this ridge and fun facts about the nature, culture and history of the area.
