Day at Apenheul

Have you always wanted to walk around among the monkeys on the loose? At the Apenheul you can! In the middle of the woods of the Veluwe near Apeldoorn you can see more than 35 different species of monkeys! Half of these monkey species are on the loose in the area.

Meet Banjoko

During your visit, you can also meet the new gorilla man Banjoko! This tough gorilla is new within the Apenheul and is the leader of his own gorilla group. His duties include ensuring that the gorilla group can live safely. At his enclosure, you can learn all about Banjoko and his group.

Altijd al willen zien wat apen eten?

During various feeding presentations, the caretakers explain all about feeding the monkeys. The keepers will also introduce you to the various monkeys and tell you about the other animals on the island. This presentation completes your day at Apenheul!

Meet the monkeys

In the monkeys' off-leash area, you can see several species roaming around. Including the: Red titi, White-faced lemurs and the silver-eared lemurs. The most curious monkeys are the squirrel monkeys which you can also find here!

After a day of walking around and playing among the monkeys, there is of course nothing better than sleeping on a campsite. At Vakantiepark Krieghuusbelten you can spend the night after a day of monkey spotting. We offer both camping sites and various accommodations. Everywhere in our park there is playground equipment , so you can still enjoy climbing and clambering after your visit to the Apenheul.
